September 2020/ Project GoCoase

The 16th trans- and interdisciplinary conference on „Biodiversity and climate – networking of players in Germany” of the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation took place at the island of Vilm from 10th-11th September. Andrea Wunsch presented results of the ongoing project GoCoase which evaluates adaptation strategies of coastal protection in the face of climate change economically.

September 2020/ Project GoCoase

We repeated the survey of our project GoCoase on climate change adaptation of coastal protection in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in the beginning of September. Half of the participants already took part in the first wave of our survey. We are excited to see whether and, if so, which differences can be detected in comparison with results of the first wave.  

September 2020/ Project GoCoase

The latest issue of the magazine „Meer und Küste“ about coastal protection at the Baltic Sea Coast was published as part of the project GoCoase. About 20 authors report on up to date knowledge about climate change as well as challenges arising and strategies for tackling adaptation of coastal protection. 

June - July 2020/ EAERE Conference

The 25th Annual Conference of the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (EAERE) takes place from June 23rd to July 3rd. Participation in the virtual conference is free, there is just a registration required. The following members of the chair present current work:

April 2020/ New paper

Swantje Sundt, Prof. Rehdanz und Dr. Jürgen Meyerhoff published their new paper Consumers’ Willingness to Accept Time-of-Use Tariffs for Shifting Electricity Demand in the open access journal Energies doi: 10.3390/en13081895.

April 2020/ Project GoCoase

In the beginning of April we piloted our survey. We ask 2000 randomly selected persons throughout Germany about coastal adaptation to climate change in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Results will be made available at the project's homepage from autumn 2020 onwards.

February 2020/ Presentation

Dr. Jana Stöver took part in the AURÖ-Workshop in Frankfurt (Oder), where she presented her research on the ”International transfer of climate-change adaptation technologies“ on February 17th.

November 2019/ Project GoCoase

In November, we conducted a first stakeholder workshop, discussing adaptation in coastal protection with stakeholders active in the areas coastal protection, tourism, environmental protection, forestry, and the maritime economy in Mecklenburg-West Pomerania.

October 2019/ Project GoCoase

In October, we conducted four focus groups in Mecklenburg-West Pomerania. Residents from the cities of Stralsund, Greifswald, Rostock, and Schwerin were invited to discuss the topic of coastal protection.
